I am a Chicago based artist and teacher known for taking discarded materials and turning them into art. I collect wood, wire, and textiles to use in my work. I am currently creating a clothing line for my upcoming fashion show at Bridgeport Art Center on May 12, 2018. The new wearable designs are created by deconstructing and combining old clothes to give discarded garments a new modern life. I am also in the early stages of combining painting and garment making.  Using acrylic paint on bed sheets, I create designs from my exploration of positive thinking and visualizations. I use my findings of words and imagery to create new fabric patterns to transform into new garments.
